Define Specification
The start of any project is exciting and full of expectations, however defining a clear specification is fundamental to the success of any project.
Amongst the ideas, creative problem solving and innovative thinking, we must arrive at a clear vision of the project goals and product definition. This can be in the form of a Product Design Specification (PDS), which will be used throughout the project.
Concept Design
Once the base specification has been agreed, we consider how emerging technologies can integrate with the development of the solution. Ideas are often expressed visually through sketch-work and graphical illustration, giving our clients a potential flavour of a commercially viable solution.
During this process, refinements to the PDS are inevitable, however Bytec encourages an iterative and collaborative approach during the early stages. More often than not, there is pressure to rush the basics and get down to the nitty gritty of the design and prototyping, however, without careful planning and discipline, down stream costs can prove expensive, and create unacceptable delays if design or specification changes are required later on into the project.
Bytec's experience in engineering project management will help navigate through this initial, but critical, stages. We have a structure process based on hard and fast rules governing the progression from stage to stage with appropriate project reviews and client sign offs.
