Caring for our products, our customers, our world
The electronics industry is always evolving, and new standards are introduced to keep our customers and our environment safe. Bytec spends a great deal of time and investment to make sure all our equipment and products comply with the latest regulations – ensuring we are supplying our customers with the very best technology.
Bytec is compliant with RoHS and REACH regulations for lead and hazardous materials, and we follow the WEEE directive for responsible waste disposal. We work with experienced testing houses and quality assurance managers who inspect and verify our products are compliant with current standards.
All Bytec products carry the CE mark for compliance with European directives. We work hard to source the best materials, many of which are recyclable, such as aluminium.
We are also taking measures with our suppliers to identify the origins of certain metals used in our products, to ensure they sourced responsibly and do not originate from conflict areas.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of electronic and electrical equipment:
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Union Regulation which addresses the use of chemicals, as well as their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. REACH is one of the world’s toughest laws, limiting or banning substances that pose a high health risk for humans or the environment.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical goods. The WEEE Directive aims to have the EU recycling 85% of electrical and electronics waste by 2016.
Bytec has designated bins in product assembly areas specially for recycling production waste. Customers and end-users of our products can also get in touch with us directly to find out more information on how they can responsible recycle or dispose of their Bytec device at the end of the life cycle.
